LONG-TERM RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT

REFERRALS:  Cassie Miller, M.Ed.

Program Description

Long-Term Residential Treatment provides residential treatment to boys, ages 10 to 17.  In this program, boys reside in a staff-secure setting and function in a highly structured milieu.  Youth take part in a variety of groups, which include cognitive restructuring/anger management, social skills, empathy development, drug and alcohol education, and independent living skills.  When youth enter the program they attend Homestead's on-site accredited school where they receive enhanced attention and supervision to meet academic and behavioral goals.  As these goals are met, youth are transitioned into the public school setting.  Youth have individual counseling on a weekly basis with their Guidance Counselor.  Family therapy is also available to families.  Typical length of stay is 12 to 14 months.  Individual Service Plans are developed when youth enter the program and are reviewed on at least a quarterly basis.

Program Description

Therapeutic Foster Care is a transitional program for boys in residential care.  Typically, youth are placed on the residential floor upon entering the program, and as they progress in treatment, they earn placement in the Therapeutic Foster Family Program, which is a less restrictive setting.  Youth in this program reside in therapeutic, community-based homes with highly trained families who collaborate with our professional staff to provide treatment.  Individual Service Plans are developed when youth enter the program and are reviewed on at least a quarterly basis.
