AGENCY DESCRIPTION

Meadowlark Manor is a facility located in a residential neighborhood in Bend, Oregon.  Meadowlark places both adjudicated and non-adjudicated females, ages 14 to 18, for an average stay of 1 year.  Depending on the gril's individual situation, a service plan is developed to meet her specific needs.  Our mission is to develop self-awareness, integrity, and social responsibility through accountability.

Educational achievement is a priority at Meadowlark.  All girls in the program attend Bend High School full-time, and may receive up to 5 additional credits for completing the Meadowlark program.  Meadowlark staff spends 3-4 hours per hours per day at school and serve as a liaison between the program and Bend High School.

Meadowlark residents are required to attend different groups dealing with issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, physical and sexual abuse, anger management, authority problems, academic under achievement, and social issues.

Meadowlark residents are very active in the community through school activities, recreational opportunities, and service projects.

Independent Living Services are provided to Meadowlark DHS clients through an Independent Living Coordinator.  This is generally emphasized after the first 90 days of placement.  OYA residents may receive some of these services as determined by their individual service plan.
