AGENCY DESCRIPTION

Southern Oregon Child Study & Treatment Center is a private, non-profit agency providing mental-health services to children, youth, and their families throughout Jackson County, Oregon.

History

SOCSTC was one of six programs established in the early 1970s as part of an effort to develop community-based alternatives to institutional placement of children.  This DARTS (Day & Residential Treatment Services) program model has been replicated throughout Oregon and is an integral part of the state's continuum of services for children.  Over the past 35 year, SOCSTC has developed a wide range of community-based services for children and families.  These services maintain the original focus of serving children in their home community, in the least restricted setting, with a strong emphasis on family involvement throughout the treatment process.

Founded:                1971

·     School Out-Reach Program
