Ethics & Healthy Boundaries for Child, Adolescent, and Family ProvidersREGISTER HERE!This course is taught by two seasoned clinicians who have years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of therapy settings. We’ll discuss the newest version of the NAADAC code of ethics and talk about scenarios pertaining to child, adolescent, and family care in substance use, mental health, and co-occurring therapy that are REAL. More importantly–we’ll delve into the underlying factors that make us more vulnerable to ethical missteps–including how to better manage your own unique history and attributes. Where: This is a virtual training via Zoom - the link is sent out by email one day prior to start. Please note* Training may be recorded for future educational opportunities. 9am-11:30am Jennifer Cheshire: -Introduction/overview of topic -How to locate applicable state laws and ethical codes for child, adolescent, and family providers -Definitions of healthy boundaries, boundary setting recipe for child, adolescent, and family providers -Healthy vs. problematic boundary compare & contrast with examples for child, adolescent, and family providers
11:30am-12pm John Hahn: -Boundaries and family experiences that influence helpers -Differentiation -Professional identity -Qualities and aspects of being a professional
-12-12:30pm Lunch Break -12:30-1pm Self study time: 1/2 hour: read ethical code that applies to their licensure (available on our website)
1-3pm: Jennifer Cheshire: Ethical situation examples and discussion of applicable ethical codes for child, adolescent, and family providers |
