As a member of the Alliance, you are part of a professional association whose unified voice carries tremendous credibility and influence. The Alliance staff, board and members are imbedded throughout the public sectors impacting children, youth and families through the public sectors. We are routinely engaged in promotion of public policies and budgets that achieve our goals in the “Three R’s” …
  • Regulatory oversight, including the reduction of redundancies and duplication, right-sizing rules and regulations, tracking unintended consequences, and promoting accountability and professionalism.
  • Resourcing programs and services to ensure that rates that cover costs; creating sustainable fiscal environments for providers; and reducing unfunded mandates.
  • Risk management that makes it possible to continually protect children and achieve outcomes they need for success; without losing quality program or service capacity, high staff turn-over, difficult foster parent recruitment, or loss of staff commitment to stay in the field.

Government Relations

BE WITH CHILD-SERVING COLLEAGUES FROM AROUND THE STATE WHO DRIVE PUBLIC POLICIES, BUDGETS AND CHANGE
Decades of credible work by the Alliance has established effective relationships with state agencies, the Governor’s office, and the Legislature.
The Alliance contracts with a professional lobbying firm. Our lobbyist provides us legislative insight, strategy ideas, targeted messages, and access to key legislators.

Our Executive Director, a former registered lobbyist with significant campaign leadership experience and twenty years as an advocate in the capitol, coordinates our legislative activities and ensures we are in the right place and the right time with the right message.

We are also significantly engaged with advisory boards, committees, and task forces with every state agency affecting children and families. We work directly with top leadership in each agency. We value public-private partnerships as a priority strategy, and collaborate at every possible opportunity.
