The Oregon Alliance is a non-profit dedicated to championing and advocating for the health and well-being of children, families and communities across Oregon. Our members are a diverse and growing set of knowledge-driven organizations who advocate for and serve Oregon’s kids and their families at home, at school, in residential settings and within the community. We connect with community thought leaders and our partners in government, allied fields and the private sector to bring together the most effective policies, best practices, and resources to help kids live healthier lives and for families and communities to thrive in every corner of state. As importantly, we support Oregonians in becoming their own best advocates.

We closely collaborate to understand and respond to the complexity of the behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, physical need, emotional challenges, and traumas experienced by children, families, and communities. We acknowledge there is still unmet need within every community of Oregon. We pledge to partner with our members and allies to build capacity and create access to critical services and supports focused on health, wellness, and building resilience. The Alliance also celebrates the diversity of the communities we serve and is dedicated to promoting equity and addressing institutional racism.

As one of the leading voices to bring Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) into the public policy conversation in Oregon, we speak with one unified and expert voice about the importance of emerging science and social theory while never forgetting the human experience and trauma that drives this knowledge into action. We are committed to working locally and across the state to build community resilience through shared responsibility and decision making with the families and within communities where we operate.

The established stratified systems of care and social service boundaries do much but not enough for many people seeking care. We are committed to transforming the system, promoting and supporting the wellbeing and sustained success of every Oregonian we can reach – the children, families and communities that make up this state’s vast potential.

We call on our members and allies to connect with us and act because we are better together than in silos. We understand there may be risk in breaking out of the established systems, yet there is far greater risk in not addressing the shortfalls and inequities of the status quo.

The Oregon Alliance  Safe Kids, Healthy Families, Strong Communities

We advocate for the needs of children and families, and for the people who provide them services. We work to assure Oregon is prioritizing children as its top investment.
