EMERGING LEADERSHIP SERIES

WHAT
The Emerging Leadership Series is a 6-month long, virtual and no cost transformational intensive series with modules spanning from September 2022 to March 2023. We have partnered with the Luna Jimenez Institute for Social Transformation (LJIST - https://ljist.com/)  who has been facilitating transformative practices for social change using an oppression lens with a commitment to end racism and creating equity for all since the mid-90s. Nanci, the founder of LJIST started this mission at the age of 26 and is based in Portland.

The Series we’ve developed with LJIST includes:
4 modules, two of which are foundational, one is chosen by the needs of the 30 participants, and 1 closing session with action steps for the future. Also, the Council will organize a kick-off session and monthly check-ins for the group. We will end the series with a completion celebration.

WHY
The Council is funded by the HOWTO grant with the goal of creating a workforce pipeline for people of color in Oregon in the Behavioral Health world. Our commitment with our members if to create equity within the Behavioral Health System supporting people of color for opportunity and mobility in Oregon.

The Council and your organization are committed to equity for people of color in the behavioral health workforce and this Emerging Series will benefit by working toward this goal. By supporting a person of color to enroll in the Emerging Series shows them and future cohort members you are willing to support them and their future. Thus, the building of trust is crucial for decreasing turnover. The knowledge, skills, and experience the cohort members gain will be brought into your organization.
